How: Come see for yourself the latest heir apparent in the great Motown revival. Hawthorne’s on the road supporting his recent release, How Do You Do, which also marks his major label debut.

Thursday 4.26
What: Bambu’s Best in Show
Where: Bambu, 604 Coleman Blvd., Mt. Pleasant
When: 5:30p.m.
How: A fundraising bash for the upcoming Charleston Dog Show, this party features a spring canine fashion show and competition with area guest judges and a Top Model award. Admission includes appetizers, beer and wine. Canine model entry fees are $15 per pup.

Friday 4.27
What: Second Annual Show of Strength Art Show
Where: Hollings Cancer Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas St.
When: 6p.m.-10p.m.
How: The annual art show, sale and silent auction in partnership with Art Mag, to benefit the Integrative Cancer Care. The ICC is a cancer support center specializing in nutritional counseling, oncology massage, hair loss solutions and mastectomy products. Join in for live music, cocktails and sushi bar! Tickets $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Saturday 4.28
What: Gypsy Lady Sale
Where: 977 Mt. Vernon Dr., James Island
When: 10a.m.-5p.m.
How: A backyard sale never looked so good! Check out designs from alice & daisy (vintage), Cavortress, gypsy baby, Gypsy Lady Antiques, Heirloom House, Hollie Wood Style, Runaround Sue vintage, Spilt Milk (a vintage children’s collection) and Style Stash (men’s vintage clothing). Rain date is Sunday 4.29. Free.

Sunday 4.29
What: 25th Annual Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival
Where: Memorial Waterfront Park, Mt. Pleasant
When: 11:30a.m.-6p.m.
How:The annual Blessing of the Fleet began in 1987 to support and recognize local shrimpers. Participants can look forward to a boat parade and ceremonial blessing of the shrimp/fishing fleet, savory seafood samplings sold by some of Mt. Pleasant’s best restaurants, live music, an arts/crafts show, Shag and shrimp-eating contests and more family-friendly activities. Proceeds benefit the local shrimping industry.
