Wednesday 2.22
What: The Garden Summer Premiere
Where: The American Theater, 446 King St.
When: 7p.m., film will begin at 8p.m.
How:  In the summer of 2010, Hailey Wist invited four suburbanites to a ranch in rural Arkansas. They lived in a small cabin, grew a large garden, ate only from a 100-mile radius, sold at a local farmers market and hosted a field feast. The project was a grassroots, community-based, social experiment and a whole lot of fun. “The Garden Summer” premieres this Wednesday, beginning with a pre-screening mingle starting at 7pm. Complimentary farm cocktails, popcorn and green carpet photos are available to attendees. Sold out.


Thursday 2.23

What: Style Swap
Where: Michael Mitchell Gallery, 438 King St.
When: 7p.m.-9p.m.
How:  In 2007, Jess James and her partner Shannon Dunne of James hosted the first bi-monthly “Style Swap” where women arrived with a few clothing items and accessories and left with items from other fashionistas’ closets. Each guest is given personalized tags to mark the items of their choice leaving their sartorial karmic fate to be determined by drawings and for the most coveted items of the night – a good old- fashioned game of musical chairs! Purchase tickets here for $15.


Friday 2.24

What: “CHARLIE: 50 Most Progressive” Launch Party
Where: The Hippodrome, 360 Concord St.
When: 7p.m. – 11p.m.
How:Party with some of the most progressive people in the city and pick up your debut copy of CHARLIE’s first-ever print magazine, “CHARLIE: 50 Most Progressive.” Entropy Ensemble opens from 7-8pm, DJs Cassidy & the Kid take over for the rest of the night. The event is free and includes catering by Social, open beer and wine bar, as well as a cash liquor bar. All-inclusive for CHARLIE CLUB members!


Saturday 2.25

What: Chase After a Cure Gala
Where: Charleston Marriott, 170 Lockwood Blvd.
When: 7p.m.
How: Help to raise awareness and funds for a deadly and aggressive childhood cancer called neuroblastoma. The gala benefits hospitals who have a dedicated neuroblastoma research lab. The mission is to help raise money to find better treatment options for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma and to ultimately find a cure. $100.

Sunday 2.26
What: 13th Annual Chefs’ Feast
Where: Embassy Suites Charleston Area Convention Center, 5055 International Blvd.
When: 6p.m.
How: The Chefs’ Feast will help raise much needed funds for the Lowcountry Food Bank‘s childhood hunger programs, Kids Cafe and BackPack Buddies. Kids Cafe is an innovative after-school program that provides hot, nutritious meals and academic assistance to children, and BackPack Buddies is a program that attacks the issue of weekend hunger by providing children with a backpack full of nutritious food over the weekend. 95% of event proceeds go directly to funding for these programs. $175.
